This is a member only meeting. Non-members who wish to make a presentation at the beginning of the bizmeet must make prior arrangements.
We start at 7:30pm sharp! Meetings sometimes go past 9:00, but rarely do. Doors open shortly after 7:00.
Business meetings (bizmeets) are where Society of Janus discusses and votes on matters pertaining to running the organization. Officer reports are also made to keep the bizmeet up to date on what's happening in different areas of the organization and where help or resources may be needed. We are a democratically run organization where all members in good standing may attend a business meeting and have their voice heard. The diversity of our membership, and the different viewpoints that comes with it, is a big part of why we have been able to be a part of the community for so long.
All members have exactly the same voting rights. We encourage all members participate and to consider volunteering, either in an elected role or as support for the many functions that are undertaken.

Access cannot be guaranteed if a member does not join Discord at least one week before the meeting and use the bot in the verification channel to verify your membership. By joining virtual BizMeets, attendees agree to the following:
Non-members are not able to see, hear, read, or otherwise engage with anything going on during BizMeet. This means non-members should not in the same room where a member is logged in and attending virtual BizMeet
No part of BizMeet will be shared or recorded (outside of the Recording Secretary's official notes). This means attendees agree to not screengrab, record, or otherwise share, or capture what goes on at BizMeet
While all general BizMeet decorum rules apply, Members will abide by additional chat decorum such as:
Using the raised hand/question functionality when appropriate and before speaking
Moderator acknowledgement prior to unmuting for questions/discussion
Courtesy and kindness in text chats
No derailing discussions
No targeted insults or attack
Not talking over/arguing with the speaker(s)
NOTE: As always with BizMeet, new business should be submitted for the agenda at least a week ahead of time by emailing moderator@soj.org. Please do not use virtual attendance to derail the announced agenda
Importantly, only members may attend. That means that if you are with anyone who is not a member, they may not be listening in with you. Each person attending should login separately on their own device so that can be verified. Regular bizmeet rules about decorum and privacy remain in effect.
Disobeying these online BizMeet ground rules may result in temporary or permanent removal from BizMeets and/or, in extreme circumstances, removal of SOJ membership.

Society of Janus is a not-for-profit, all volunteer, San Francisco-based education and support organization devoted to the art of hot, consensual and non-exploitative BDSM.
